LAJDM LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY
Effective Date: [Insert Date]
This Limited Warranty Policy (“Warranty”) applies to eligible used engines, transmissions, and other products sold by LAJDM (“LAJDM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By purchasing a product from LAJDM, the customer (“Customer,” “Buyer,” or “you”) acknowledges that they have reviewed and agreed to this Warranty, the LAJDM Terms & Conditions, Shipping Policy, and Refund/Return Policy, as applicable.
This Warranty applies only to the product specifically identified on the applicable sales receipt or invoice and only for the warranty period stated below.
1. WARRANTY PERIOD
Unless a different warranty period is expressly stated on the sales receipt or invoice:
- Used Replacement Engines: 90-day limited warranty.
- Used Performance Engines, including Turbo, VTEC, i-VTEC, VVT, VVTi, and GTE models: 30-day limited warranty.
- Rotary Engines, including Mazda RX-7, Mazda RX-8, 13B, 13BT/13BTT, and 20B: No Warranty.
- Used Performance Transmissions: 30-day limited warranty.
- Used Replacement Transmissions: 90-day limited warranty.
- Parts Sold As-Is: No warranty unless expressly stated otherwise on the sales receipt or invoice.
The applicable warranty period begins according to the date specified on the applicable sales receipt or invoice.
The warranty period does not restart or extend because a product is repaired, exchanged, replaced, or inspected, unless required by applicable law or expressly agreed to by LAJDM in writing.
2. PERFORMANCE AND OFF-ROAD PRODUCTS
Any turbocharged and/or performance engine, transmission, or related unit sold by LAJDM is intended for California off-road use only, where applicable.
Customer is solely responsible for determining whether the purchased product may legally be used in the Customer’s intended vehicle and application.
LAJDM does not represent that performance products are legal for use on public roads, highways, emissions-controlled vehicles, or in any particular application.
3. MODIFICATIONS VOID THE WARRANTY
The warranty is void to the extent a failure or condition is caused by modification of the engine or transmission from its original OEM factory condition.
Modifications include, but are not limited to:
- Turbochargers
- Superchargers
- Engine or transmission tuning
- Nitrous oxide
- Power adders
- Aftermarket performance modifications
- Modifications that alter factory operating specifications
Any modification that contributes to, causes, or makes it impossible to determine the cause of a claimed defect may result in denial of the warranty claim.
4. DISASSEMBLY VOIDING WARRANTY
The Customer must not disassemble the internal components of a product before LAJDM has been given an opportunity to inspect the product and provide written authorization, when such authorization is required under this Warranty.
The following will void the warranty:
- Removing cylinder head(s) from the engine block without prior written authorization from LAJDM.
- Splitting or opening the transmission case without prior written authorization from LAJDM.
- Disassembling internal components without prior written authorization from LAJDM.
- Modifying, machining, rebuilding, or otherwise altering the product without prior written authorization from LAJDM.
Unauthorized disassembly may prevent LAJDM from determining whether the claimed condition existed before installation or was caused after sale.
5. COMPONENTS COVERED UNDER ENGINE WARRANTY
Unless otherwise stated on the sales receipt or invoice, the limited warranty for eligible used replacement engines covers internal engine components, including:
- Pistons
- Piston rings
- Piston pins
- Crankshaft and main bearings
- Connecting rods and rod bearings
- Camshaft and camshaft bearings
- Timing chain and timing gears
- Intake and exhaust valves
- Valve springs, seals, and guides
- Oil pump
- Push rods
- Rocker arms and shafts
The engine block, cylinder walls, and cylinder head are warranted against deep cracks or distortions that prevent the engine from operating under the manufacturer's intended use, subject to all exclusions and conditions contained in this Warranty.
LAJDM may, before sale, service, repair, rebuild, replace, or exchange components when LAJDM determines that such action is necessary.
6. COMPONENTS NOT COVERED
The warranty does not cover external accessories, attached components, or ancillary parts, including but not limited to:
- Intake and exhaust manifolds
- Carburetors
- Distributor
- Starter
- Emission components
- Flywheel

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, the warranty applies only to the covered product/components identified in this Warranty and does not include unrelated vehicle components.
7. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
LAJDM may deny a warranty claim when the claimed failure, damage, or condition is caused by or related to:
- Customer negligence
- Improper installation
- Improper removal
- Incorrect installation procedures
- Mechanic error
- Vehicle incompatibility
- Overheating
- Lack of proper maintenance
- Low, contaminated, or improper fluids
- Abuse or misuse
- Racing or competition use

- Detonation
- Excessive heat
- Continued operation after a warning condition
- Failure to properly lubricate or maintain the product
- Installation of incompatible components
- Unauthorized disassembly
- Unauthorized repair or modification
- Accident or collision
- External damage
- Environmental or storage conditions
- Any condition occurring after delivery that is not attributable to a defect covered by this Warranty
This Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, consumable items, or failures unrelated to a covered defect.
8. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Professional installation by a qualified mechanic experienced with the applicable vehicle and product is strongly recommended.
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that:
- The product is compatible with the intended vehicle.
- The product is installed correctly.
- All required fluids, filters, seals, gaskets, belts, hoses, and related components are properly inspected and replaced when appropriate.
- Manufacturer-recommended installation procedures are followed.
- The vehicle's cooling, lubrication, electrical, fuel, and related systems are functioning properly before operation.
Improper installation or mechanic error may void coverage when it causes or contributes to the claimed failure.
9. INITIAL INSPECTION AND OPERATION
Used engines and transmissions should be carefully inspected and monitored immediately after installation and during the first 50–100 miles of operation.
The Customer should immediately stop operating the vehicle if unusual noises, overheating, fluid loss, warning lights, abnormal operation, or other potentially damaging conditions occur.
Continuing to operate a product after discovering a potentially damaging condition may result in denial of a warranty claim if the continued operation causes or increases the damage.
10. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE
If the Customer believes an eligible product has a defect covered by this Warranty, the Customer must contact LAJDM promptly and before performing any repair, disassembly, modification, or other work that could affect LAJDM's ability to inspect or determine the cause of the claimed failure.
At LAJDM's request, the Customer must provide documentation reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim, which may include:
- A detailed written report from a qualified/certified mechanic
- Clear photographs of the product and claimed defect
- Clear videos demonstrating the claimed problem
- Mechanic certification or license information
- Mechanic contact information
- Vehicle information
- Vehicle identification number (VIN), when applicable
- Mileage information
- Diagnostic test results
- Diagnostic trouble codes
- Maintenance records, when relevant
- Installation information
- Copies of applicable invoices or receipts
- Any other reasonable documentation necessary to evaluate the claim
The mechanic providing the claim documentation may not be the same individual who purchased the engine or transmission.
LAJDM may contact the mechanic or other service provider to verify the information provided.
11. AUTHORIZATION BEFORE RETURN OR DISASSEMBLY
No product should be returned to LAJDM without prior authorization and a valid Return Authorization (“RA”) number, when required.
The Customer must not assume that a claim is approved merely because LAJDM requests that the product be returned for inspection.
LAJDM's issuance of an RA number or request for return does not constitute an admission that the product is defective or that the warranty claim is covered.
12. RETURN AND INSPECTION REQUIREMENT
All warranty claims involving a return, exchange, replacement, or refund require the applicable engine, transmission, or covered product to be returned to LAJDM for inspection and verification, unless LAJDM expressly agrees otherwise in writing or applicable law requires otherwise.
LAJDM must have a reasonable opportunity to inspect the product and determine the cause and nature of the claimed defect before approving a warranty remedy.
Returned engines and transmissions must be complete and must include all components originally supplied by LAJDM that are required for inspection.
Missing, damaged, modified, or removed components may affect eligibility for warranty coverage and, where permitted by law, may result in a deduction from an approved refund or replacement value.
13. WARRANTY RESOLUTION
After reviewing the documentation and, when required, inspecting the returned product, LAJDM will determine whether the claim is covered under this Warranty.
If a claim is approved, the available remedy may include one or more of the following, as appropriate:
- Repair
- Replacement of the defective component
- Replacement of the product
- Refund for the covered defective product or component
- Another remedy agreed upon by LAJDM and the Customer
The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature of the defect, availability of replacement products/components, inspection results, and applicable law.
LAJDM does not guarantee that a particular remedy will be available in every situation.
14. SHIPPING, LABOR, AND RELATED EXPENSES
To the extent permitted by applicable law, this Warranty does not cover:
- Return shipping
- Transportation expenses
- Labor charges
- Installation or removal costs
- Diagnostic fees
- Mechanic fees
- Towing fees
- Rental vehicle expenses
- Storage fees
- Lost wages
- Lost profits
- Business interruption
- Downtime
- Travel expenses
- Freight charges
- Other incidental or consequential expenses
The Customer is responsible for arranging and paying applicable transportation, removal, installation, diagnostic, and related costs unless LAJDM expressly agrees otherwise in writing or applicable law requires otherwise.
15. NO DOUBLE RECOVERY / RETURN OF PRODUCT
A Customer may not receive a refund, replacement, reimbursement, or other recovery for a product while also retaining the same product, except where expressly permitted by applicable law or agreed to in writing by LAJDM.
Where a refund or replacement requires the return of the original product, the Customer must return the product as required by LAJDM before receiving the applicable remedy.
Nothing in this Warranty prevents a Customer from exercising rights provided by applicable law or from initiating a payment dispute with a card issuer or financial institution.
However, if a payment dispute, chargeback, or other payment reversal is initiated, LAJDM reserves all rights to provide the payment processor, card network, bank, or other authorized party with relevant transaction records, including the invoice, applicable policies, Customer communications, shipping records, delivery records, inspection records, photographs, videos, mechanic documentation, and other evidence relevant to the transaction and dispute.
16. DEPOSITS AND UNPAID ORDERS
Deposits on engines, transmissions, and parts will hold the applicable item for 30 days.
After 30 days, if the remaining balance has not been paid, LAJDM may release the item for sale or otherwise dispose of the order as permitted by the applicable Terms & Conditions and law.
The full balance must be paid within 30 days from the deposit date.
Unless otherwise stated in writing or required by applicable law, no refund will be issued after the applicable 30-day payment period.
The Buyer must pick up the item or arrange shipping within 25 days after the full balance has been paid.
17. CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGMENT
By completing a purchase, the Customer acknowledges that they have had an opportunity to review and agree to the LAJDM Terms & Conditions, Refund/Return Policy, Shipping Policy, and this Warranty, as applicable.
The Customer is responsible for reviewing the product description, sales receipt, invoice, warranty period, and applicable policies before completing the purchase.
The specific terms shown on the applicable sales receipt or invoice will control where a product-specific warranty period or condition is expressly stated.
18. RECORDS AND WARRANTY VERIFICATION
LAJDM may maintain records relating to each warranty claim and transaction, including:
- Order and invoice information
- Product identification information
- Customer communications
- Shipping and tracking records
- Delivery confirmation
- Photographs and videos
- Inspection results
- Mechanic reports
- Diagnostic records
- RA information
- Return records
- Refund or replacement records
- Other documentation relevant to the transaction or warranty claim
These records may be used to evaluate warranty eligibility and, where appropriate, respond to payment disputes, chargebacks, or other claims concerning the transaction.
19. LIMITATIONS REQUIRED BY LAW
This Warranty is intended to be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in this Warranty is intended to waive, eliminate, or restrict any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived or restricted under applicable federal, state, or local law.
To the extent any provision of this Warranty is determined to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
20. POLICY UPDATES
LAJDM may modify or update its Warranty Policy from time to time.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the Warranty terms applicable to a particular purchase are the terms presented to and accepted by the Customer at the time of that purchase.
